The Webcam Modeling Experience
To say the least, webcam modeling is an interesting job. When you go live, you’re hoping to make a certain amount of money each time. Depending on your looks, personality, and willingness, the money can be good. Really good. And that’s the whole point of webcamming: make money off of lonely guys.
But there’s so much more to it than just stripping on cam and collecting a commission. You have free chat. There’s paid chat. And then there are the REAL people involved.
It’s a strange concept to make money online with “virtual friends,” even “virtual lovers.” Yet that’s exactly what happens when you perform on webcam. It becomes personal, at least for the guy paying you. Lasting memories are made. Relationships will be formed. And sadly, guys will even get hurt.
Which brings me to today’s topic. That is, how to connect to your members’ emotions without getting too close.
Let’s face it, a lot of the guys paying for webcam models don’t exactly fit the “successful” type of man. Sometimes you have to wonder why these guys are paying so much money to chat online instead of getting the real thing. Unfortunately, stalkers have been known to find their favorite webcam models in real life. And as a webcam model, it’s in your best interest to be cautious about how much you tell your clients.
In the end, your clients are real people. Many of them will have interesting things to say. And some of them with develop real feelings for you. They may even fall in love with you.
If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I emphasize connecting emotionally to your paying members. This is how you get repeat visits. You need to communicate in a way that makes him connect to you emotionally so that he remembers you. You listen. You respond. You give him exactly what he wants. And you also keep your distance at just the right amount. Not too far. Not too close.
The webcam modeling experience can be a good one. But you need to be responsible. Don’t ever give out personal information such as your name, address, even city. But at the same time, give them the fantasy that they are talking to the REAL you. It’s all part of the webcam modeling experience. And it’s one of the reasons they keep coming back to you for more.
