The Webcam Industry
The webcam industry is a new adult job opportunity where any attractive male (camboy) or female (camgirl) can earn incredible amounts of money by video chatting on their computer webcam.
LiveJasmin Performers, Think Like a Porn Star!
Feb 21st
When most LiveJasmin performers and webcam models think about camming, they think of going online to flirt, strip, and deal with abusive jerks: just put in the time, ignore the haters, and collect your paycheck. The models who’ve really “figured it out” will earn their living without even taking it the stripping level (read my interview with “Never Nude”). It just goes to show that successful webcam models come in many forms — this isn’t a one-size-fits-all type of job.
I’ve always pushed the idea that your personality is your most important skill in selling private shows. But it’s also true that webcam models who ACT like dirty little sluts also do very well in the private room. I’ve received a couple emails from porn stars looking to make the transition into the adult webcam world. Not surprisingly, they had no problems making the transition.
If the idea of getting online to perform makes you nervous, you’re not alone. Your webcam is turned on. You’re looking your sexiest. And you’re about to be taken into private where you will be told to perform sexual acts by a random stranger online. Assuming you’re performing solo, you are safe in the comfort of your home, yet the free chat room makes you feel as if you’re performing for an audience!
A good idea for any new webcam model is to think like a porn star. Underneath all the social programming and religious bullshit, lies an inner slut completely uninhibited and waiting to be liberated. I don’t care if you’re a guy, girl, straight, or gay, we are all sexual creatures.
So how do you act like a porn star in front of your webcam? Release your “Inner Slut.” That’s how!
Of course, this is only webcam modeling. Your job is to simply “act” like a slut. Here’s some porn star behavior that will convince your customers that you are worthy of their money.
Eye Contact
Sexy eye contact can be extremely arousing! When you’re online, you should be looking directly into your customer’s eyes. That is, look into your webcam. This will make him feel like you’re “together.” Make sure your webcam is set close enough to your bed or wherever you perform to make him feel “close” to you. From time to time, lean in towards the camera and lick your lips and give him a kiss. Do this as if he’s right in front of you.
Voice Tone
Speaking slower is sexier. Deliberately slow down your voice as if you’re talking to your boyfriend/girlfriend at the most intimate times. As you get more excited, your voice tone should reflect this. Moan as you continue to excite yourself. As excitement escalates, so should your breathing and moaning.
Dirty Talk
Dirty talk is one of the webcam model’s most powerful tools. A camgirl or camboy who knows how to effectively use dirty talk can earn more money with less effort. There are no limits to how far you can take it, though it’s good to start off slowly and build it up:
- “I’m getting so hot and horny right now…”
- “I haven’t had my pussy pounded for way too long…”
- “I want you to fuck my little ass, Daddy!”
- “Treat me like the dirty little slut that I am!”
- “I want you to shoot your hot load all over my face!”
Combining effective dirty talk with seductive eye contact and body language is VERY hot. Don’t be surprised if you double your time in private chat using these techniques alone!
Orgasm
Whether you fake your orgasm or not makes no difference. What’s important is your perceived pleasure. One way you can extend your time in private chat is to extend your fake orgasm. Just when he’s thinks you’re about to cum, tell him:
- “Baby, I’m gonna cum soon…” (continue to masterbate)
- “Baby, I’m going to cum so fucking hard…” (continue to masterbate)
- “Oh God…fuck…” (moan and masterbate more)
- “Baby, you gonna cum with me?” (make strong eye contact and continue to masterbate)
If you’re performing on LiveJasmin, you already know you get paid per minute. And once you’re about to orgasm, there’s almost zero chance they will stop paying you at this point. Build up slowly to the orgasm and extend it as long as you can.
Guys have an added level of difficulty here since it’s harder to fake orgasm. Your goal is to keep erect and have them believe you are just about to shoot your load:
- “I’m getting close…”
- “Oh God, I can’t take it much longer…”
- “God, I want to cum so fucking bad…”
- “It’s coming…oh fuck…”
Then when you do cum, keep the show going! Now is the perfect time to extend your private time with some “cum play” for your customers.
Bonding
Many customers will stay in private even after your sex show is finished. They may want to ask you questions and get to know you better. Now you can give them the “girlfriend experience” (or “boyfriend experience”). This bonding time AFTER your sex show could mean the difference between a one-timer and a repeat regular client. Not every guy is only interested in sex. Many will want to chat afterwards as well. If you can make him feel as if he’s your favorite, there’s a good chance he will be back.
Webcam modeling is all about the details. And you don’t have to be a porn star to become a successful webcam performer. With practice, you’ll start developing your own style and techniques. And as you continue to build your sexual confidence, you will notice yourself enjoying your online work more.

Webcam Performer or Online Prostitute?
Dec 24th
Let’s talk about camming terminology.
You’ve probably already heard of the following terms: camgirl, camboy, webcam model, webcam perfomer.
Personally, I Iike “webcam performer” simply because it’s most accurate. The word “model” has a connotation of looking good, whereas the word “performer” conveys putting on a show. And if you’ve ever worked in this industry, you know it’s all about the performance.
I was reading an adult webcam message board the other day and came across some rather distasteful comments. Here’s what some guy had to say about the webcam profession:
“women online is the same thing as prostiutues , they tak money for sexual favors, look up a dictionary, its the same thing as walking the street ,except no physical contact!”
So I decided to look up the word “prostitute” in the dictionary. Here’s what I found: A prostitute is a person, usually a woman, who has sex with men in exchange for money.
Women online are the same as prostitutes? No. If anything, webcam modeling could be categorized as porn, with one big difference: your shows are private.
Here’s some interesting porn statistics compiled from respected news and research organizations:
Every second $3,075.64 is being spent on pornography. Every second 28,258 internet users are viewing pornography. In that same second 372 internet users are typing adult search terms into search engines. Every 39 minutes a new pornographic video is being created in the U.S.
Yup, it’s a big business.
My guess is that these so called “moral” guys have no problem jerking off to porn videos in private. But the moment they hear of an “online prostitute” making money online, she becomes “trash.”
Webcam modeling is NOT prostitution. You are NOT having sex with strangers for money. And unlike prostitution, cam modeling is completely legal. Let the haters think what they want. No person’s opinion can have any effect on you unless you allow it to.
But if you want to be a “webcam model,” or “webcam performer,” or any other label you want to use, then understand that people will judge you for this. Because of this, I suggest you keep your online work private, or at least only share it with people you can trust.
So, to all the “cam girls,” “cam boys,” “cam sluts,” and “cam whores” reading this post:
Ignore the haters.
Love your job.
And be proud of the money you earn online.
The people that are important to you won’t mind. And the people that do mind probably aren’t that important to you anyway.
LiveJasmin Scam?
Dec 23rd
Working in the webcam industry can be really frustrating. And in today’s post, I’m going to tell you why I’m pissed off.
A while back, my video entitled How To Become An Adult Webcam Model: The 3 Things You Need To Succeed was taken down from YouTube. Here’s what they told me:
“This video has been removed as a violation of YouTube’s policy against spam, scams, and commercially deceptive content.”
What bullshit!
Everything I talked about in that video was legit. When I said that webcam models make $1000 every week working 20-25 hours, I meant it. Don’t believe me? Search online and here’s what you’ll find:
Just recently I made a lil over a $1000 for ten hours. which was five days for me at 2 hrs a pop. So I know that if i put my heart into it and actually worked my ass off….I could make the thousands a month.
Do the math, that’s $100/hour!
Logged on, made $10 in the first hour and a half…Took about an hour break…logged back on, made $50 in an hour.
This camgirl averages about $24/hour. Not that great, but still decent money.
Sometimes you might make $10 in an hour, and other times you will make $50 to $100 an hour. I have had good days and bad days. I have been doing this over 2 years now, and I am still learning! The more I learn the more I make…Let’s just say on my worst day I couldn’t even make 20 bucks!!!
This performer averages anywhere between $10-$100/hour. (If she had more regulars, her hourly wage would be more consistent.)
I have been camming over a year now….Horrible nights I’ve made $10 (LOL). Great nights I’ve made $500+. Average pay every 2 weeks around $1500. (working prob one week out of the two)
Assuming she’s working 20 hours/week and two weeks per month, that’s $75/hour.
Of course, these are “average” numbers. When you look at top performer statistics, you get a very different story:
I make $4000-$6000 a month… Don’t really have “bad days” when I dont make a lot of money because I work diff sites so if its slow one place I’m making $$$ somewhere else. Once you get a solid fanbase it’s much easier, though.
This model makes a very comfortable living! Clearly, she’s figured it out. (I also talk all about the importance of building a fan base in my video.)
I don’t web cam myself but know girls that do. One I know made $800 in four hours the other day.
That’s $200/hour!
So when I say LiveJasmin performers make $1000/week working 20-25 hours, it’s not an exaggeration in anyway.
But I can understand why YouTube felt my video was “spam” or “scam.” I mean, there’s so much bullshit online that it’s hard to trust anyone these days. And to be fair, YouTube is not an adult friendly site, so it’s no surprise they didn’t like my video.
Anyway, it’s no problem now because I decided to upload my video on my own hosting site. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can watch it here.
And if you’re thinking of signing up as a new LiveJasmin Performer, it’s NOT a scam. I’ve been working with them for over two years now, and not once have they ever missed a payout or “scammed” me in anyway.
Webcam Model Safety
Dec 15th
Whether you’re already a webcam model or are currently looking for webcam jobs, safety is (or at least should be!) your number one concern.
Some cammers are totally cool with their private shows going all over the internet. After all, it’s more model exposure which can only help them get more clients. But from the response I’ve gotten from my readers, the majority of new webcam performers are concerned with protecting their privacy.
So how do you know if you’re working for a trustworthy site? Is there any way to guarantee your safety?
Below is a check list I compiled to address your privacy and safety issues for webcam modeling and working in the adult industry in general.
Choosing Your Site
Does the site require copies of legal documents before you start work? Although you may feel uncomfortable sending copies of your ID over the internet, the fact is that this information is used for your own protection. Any adult company that does NOT ask for proof of age should be avoided at all costs.
Do you see a “Contact” page, “Privacy Policy” page, and a “U.S.C. 2257” statement on the website? While researching webcam jobs, I came across a cam site where the contact page directed me to a “404 Page Not Found.” WTF!? How can I trust a company if I can’t even contact them? There should also be a “Privacy Policy” and, if the site allows nudity, a “18 U.S.C2257 Record-Keeping Requirements Complicance Statement” somewhere on the home page. If any of these are missing, you’re working for an illegal company.
Protecting Your Privacy
Does the site give you the option to block your webcam and profile? Some sites can be quite vague in details until AFTER you sign up. To stay on the safe side, I recommend new wecbam performers sign up to LiveJasmin. LiveJasmin has become the global leader in adult camming with model safety their priority. Whatever site you choose, it’s always best to contact them directly when in doubt of privacy options.
Never give out personal information. This includes your name, address, and city in both free chat and paid chat. I also suggest you sign up with a different email address which can be used only for your webcam related work.
Accepting The Risks
You’re never 100% protected. I wish I could give you a 100% guarantee that your privacy will be protected, but there’s always a chance that your viewer will record your show with some kind of video hacking software. To be fair, this is extremely unlikely. And not once have I heard of any LiveJasmin performer getting “found out” unless they either told someone or failed to update their privacy settings correctly.
Are you sure this is for you? I mean, are you really ok with getting online and masterbating in front of strangers? The money can be good. In fact, it can be great. But just like starting any new job, it’s important you do your research before you sign up.

The Webcam Modeling Experience
Dec 13th
To say the least, webcam modeling is an interesting job. When you go live, you’re hoping to make a certain amount of money each time. Depending on your looks, personality, and willingness, the money can be good. Really good. And that’s the whole point of webcamming: make money off of lonely guys.
But there’s so much more to it than just stripping on cam and collecting a commission. You have free chat. There’s paid chat. And then there are the REAL people involved.
It’s a strange concept to make money online with “virtual friends,” even “virtual lovers.” Yet that’s exactly what happens when you perform on webcam. It becomes personal, at least for the guy paying you. Lasting memories are made. Relationships will be formed. And sadly, guys will even get hurt.
Which brings me to today’s topic. That is, how to connect to your members’ emotions without getting too close.
Let’s face it, a lot of the guys paying for webcam models don’t exactly fit the “successful” type of man. Sometimes you have to wonder why these guys are paying so much money to chat online instead of getting the real thing. Unfortunately, stalkers have been known to find their favorite webcam models in real life. And as a webcam model, it’s in your best interest to be cautious about how much you tell your clients.
In the end, your clients are real people. Many of them will have interesting things to say. And some of them with develop real feelings for you. They may even fall in love with you.
If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I emphasize connecting emotionally to your paying members. This is how you get repeat visits. You need to communicate in a way that makes him connect to you emotionally so that he remembers you. You listen. You respond. You give him exactly what he wants. And you also keep your distance at just the right amount. Not too far. Not too close.
The webcam modeling experience can be a good one. But you need to be responsible. Don’t ever give out personal information such as your name, address, even city. But at the same time, give them the fantasy that they are talking to the REAL you. It’s all part of the webcam modeling experience. And it’s one of the reasons they keep coming back to you for more.
