Today I wanted to review one of the most talked about webcam jobs by top earning models today.
Internet Modeling has represented some of the highest paid models in the business since 1998. Though maybe not as recognizable as sites like LiveJasmin and CameraBoys, I strongly advice experienced and new webcam models alike to do their research about working for this adult cam site.
Here’s why:
Internet Modeling is run by a team of women committed to treating each model with the highest level of support. Unlike other webcam jobs (which I won’t go into here), Internet Modeling understands that each and every model is a valued asset to the company. Their customer support team is simply the best I’ve worked for.
The other thing that separates Internet Modeling from other webcam sites is their huge network of partner sites. When you sign up as a new model with Internet Modeling, you will appear on their whole network of adult websites simultaneously. In other words, you have an almost unfair advantage of traffic flow of potential paying members compared to other webcam jobs.
Keep in mind that Internet Modeling is more selective of their models. The registration process takes longer than other webcam sites, and not all webcam models are accepted.
To get started, you can fill out the Internet Modeling model application here. If your application is accepted, you will be assigned to your own agent who will help you along the way. You can also apply to become an agent and have your own virtual studio.

There is a misconception about what customers are looking for in a web cam model. I get emails every day from people wanting to become a new model. They ask me things like:
It’s true that sexually attractive cam girls and cam guys generally make more money, at least on average. But by no means is web cam modeling only about looking sexy.
Web cam modeling offers viewer a very different experience than a porn movie. Cam models give customers a chance to experience a much more personal and intimate fantasy. Customers get the chance to interact with the models by asking them questions and making sexual requests. The more creative and alluring ways you can respond to customers, the better the chance of getting them to pay for private chat with you.
In other words, web cam modeling is all about keeping the fantasy alive.
Today I wanted to give you some tips on how to keep the fantasy alive by answering “yes” to your customer’s questions/requests, even though what you really mean is “no.” You can’t always give them what they want, but you can always lead them on to think that you will:

In the world of pick up artists, Playing the Field is a term that means casually dating multiple partners at the same time. It means keeping your options open, and not giving all your attention to one person. It might seem counter-intuitive, but by Playing the Field, you actually become more attractive to the opposite sex since you’re conveying a more fun and challenging personality.
In webcam modeling, you also need to Play the Field. Sometimes there are simply too many visitors in free chat to give them personalized attention, so you’ll want to direct them as a crowd.
You can say something like:
Addressing the group as a whole has a subtle psychological message. It says “I’m in high demand. If you want private time with this webcam model, you will need to pay up.” Of course when you only have a few visitors, you will have more time for personalized attention to each of them.
Another good cam modeling practice is to always acknowledge new visitors in free chat. The focus must be on the customer, even if he’s a jerk who shows up saying something like “SHOW ME YOUR TITS!!”
You can still be playful and polite and respond with something like:
You always want to keep a positive approach. Your visitors need to know that you are really having fun. Put some humor in there too:
And when you do strike a nerve with one of your comments with a customer, keep going with it. Let them join in on the fantasy with you. This way they’ll be more likely to pay for you instead of the other webcam models.

Today I wanted to talk about something known as “buzz.” In cam modeling terms, buzz is the number of visitors in free chat that are eager to see you strip or play with yourself, with or without having to pay you.
Visitors in free chat have different ways to get your attention: they will type in all CAPS, they will try to trick you into getting naked by saying they’ll go private after you strip, or they might verbally attack you. All of this contributes to the buzz of having many visitors compete for your attention. It can be annoying, but you want to create as much buzz as possible, and ignore it at the same time.
Most adult cam sites are structured around the concept of free chat. Visitors get a chance to chat with sexy cam models for free; and cam models get the chance to seduce them into paying for private chat. Your success as a camgirl or camboy will largely depend on your ability to attract, entice, and keep your clients coming back to you for as long as possible. It’s a numbers game. The more buzz you can create — the more visitors you have in free chat — the more chances you’ll have of getting new paying clients.
The best way to create buzz in free chat is to hold your visitors’ attention. To do this you need to focus on why they’re visiting you in the first place. Adult cam sites are based on sexual and erotic overtones. It’s a good idea to get to know your clients on a more personal level, but always bring the topic back to sex. There will be clients who are primarily interested in getting to know personally, but most potential paying clients are there to be “entertained.”
To keep it sexy, you need to be aware of your body language, facial expressions, and choice of words. Dance in seductive ways. Give them a flash every now and then. Blow them a sexy kiss and give them a flirty smile. If a visitor is being rude, ignore him. Keep the focus on yourself and conveying your sexiest version of yourself. Remember, you are a webcam PERFORMER, and it’s up to you act the part by creating an inspiring performance for your visitors.
The more buzz you can create, the more guys you will have competing for you. You want guys to get jealous. You want them to be the “saviour” type who will take you to private chat away from the other annoying visitors.
Remember, you are the prize, and as such, you need to fulfill your visitors’ expectations. This is how you create cam modeling buzz. And this is how you become a successful cam model with a fan club of regular paying clients.

You’ve heard the stories of webcam models making thousands of dollars from the comfort of their own home. You’ve heard how easy the work is; just buy a webcam, flirt with customers, and watch the paychecks come in. Simple, right?
The stories of webcam models making $1000 a week are true, but at what expense?
Here’s what you’re not being told:
No Profit Work Days:
The first couple of weeks for webcam models are often the best. New models start off with a promotional period where their profile shows up at the top of the profile list. This gives them maximum exposure and more paying customers – often translated as a “beginner model’s luck.”
However, after this promotional period, some webcam models find it harder to get paying members. All of a sudden they find themselves competing with more models which can lead to more free chat with less pay.
This can be frustrating for any webcam model. It’s important to understand that you will have good days, as well as bad days. There tends to be a cycle of paychecks — in a good week you’ll make over $1000, but the next week you might only make $300-$400.
Having Your Photos Online:
Once you upload your photos online, you’ll be online forever. Even if you decide to give up your webcam modeling career, there’s always a chance that somebody saved your photo to his computer and posted it somewhere online.
There have been cases of camgirls and camboys being unable to get a job because somebody had found out they were a webcam model. In fairness, 99.9% of the time your photos will never come back to haunt you, and there are some precautions you can take.
Some webcam sites such as Livejasmin and CameraBoys give you the option of blocking entire countries from viewing your webcam. And if that’s still not enough, you can just only upload photos that don’t show your face.
Before becoming a webcam model, ask yourself whether you’re willing to take the risk of someone finding out how you’ve been making all the extra spending money. Webcam modeling jobs do pay incredible salaries, but they also come with a certain risk.
Working Late Hours:
Most visitors surf for webcam shows after their family has gone to bed. There are exceptions to this rule, but most webcam models agree that the busy times are evenings and nights.
This might be an insignificant downside of the job depending on your current schedule, but keep in mind that your sleep cycle might get a little messed up as you find yourself staying up later and later in order to make more money. As you continue “staying up for the last show,” your desire for money might come before your need for sleep!
If you still think you have what it takes to become a successful webcam model, then this really can work for you. There is a bit of a learning curve for new models, but if you put in the required time, you can be confident that you too can have a successful career as a webcam model.
